picked up a mixing bank--Limco

I bought a mixing bank on craig's so that I can keep my stash of paint mixed. As it turns out a lot of the toners are still half way decent and I was like score! Having no clue who Limco was I looked them up and was like meh, but I figure they'll probably be ok to spray on shop equipment and crap like that. I've looked around and can't find much info on limco supreme. they've since move to the supreme plus. I can buy reducers and hardeners. But would like to know if they are using a base maker or stabilizer to add to the toners like some other brands, or if I can just reduce it and go. Anybody had experience with the limco brand? Thanks,

Paul

spi reducer works great in limco. i have used limco supreme and limco 3 which is their urethane ss. to be honest, for cheaper job where i need a single stage the 3 aint half bad. i sprayed my neighbors truck with it and it looked damn good for an old truck that he was just going to take to maaco. cant say coverage is good. some colors i have had cover in 3 coats and some have been like a candy and needed 8. for supreme do not activate it like a regular urethane base. youll run in to wrinkling issues if you do. the supreme works just fine with spi clears and primers and i would have no problem using it on an overall for a daily driver. DO NOT expect any kind of close color match with it. as i said its an overall product.

Thanks for the info, Jim! I thought I subscribed to this thread but didn't get an e-mail. There are a couple cool colors I'd like to keep. Have you mixed colors with limco before? The last place I worked at had a ppg bank and certain toners required add ins to keep the metalics lined out. Sound familiar with limco? I'd imagine this is common practice.

never mixed the stuff. i only use it here and their for odd ball stuff so i just have my jobber make and deliver it to me. the mixing is probably strange because its all the same toners i believe to mix alkyd enamel, acrylic enamel, urethane ss, and acrylic basecoat. its a strange system.

I got online tonight and ran the #'s on the toners that are still good. new they would cost a little over $1700. I think I did pretty good considering I just wanted the mixer.
