Painting a roll cage....what would you do??

So i have to paint the cage in a buddies car. the original plan was to just leave it satin black(epoxy) which would have been perfect....but he decided he wants it a mettalic gray(satin finish).

Now my plan was to epoxy and then rattle can it. If I co that route what rattle can paint would you recommend? Something that will be durable and still look nice.

I had also debated on using BC/CC but using a flat clear...

epoxy it then SS it with a small gun.
