Painted Pinstripes

Hi all Repairing a 96 Caddy ( very nice car ) rear door with damage in to the painted pinstripes.I basically know how to do this but more of a collision man then a painter. Would like to know the best way and ask the experts here. My thoughts spray base ( white ) let dry then couple coats of SPI intercoat clear mask out for stripes then EURO clear? thanks

Last time I did painted stripes with base/ clear I just taped out the stripe outline with 3-m fineline tape, then masking tape once the base was dry enough with no extra steps.
The time before that I sprayed the pinstripe area with the pinstripe color first, when dry taped the pinstripe area itselt with fineline tape & sprayed the main color around it.
Both methods work. The first method gives a hint more of a laid on pinstripe look & the 2nd a hint more of a custom look, though they look really similar if the clear is color sanded flat & buffed.. The 2nd method is less taping.
