old mag wheel cleaning

Never heard of anyone dying from absorbing hydrofluoric acid? Any articles?
Just interested as it's a very unique acid in that it's the only thing I know that dissolves glass. I have seen guys use it to cut down windshields on custom cars.

and to think, in the 80s we could buy it at any auto store. i bet i prayed it on wheels monthly back then. now i didnt get it on me, didnt taste it lol.

i have one more dumb question. how long after shooting epoxy should we wait to mount tires? a week? more? the boy is getting anxious and his tires are here.

the blaster sent me some pics, hes glass bead blasted the backs, wow they look good now. not shiny, but clean. as i expected.

Put them out in the sun to accelerate the cure.

wheels are back. scrubbing them tomorrow probably. any pointers on taping the narrow part of the rim between the spokes and where the bead of the tire goes? thinking on how to bend the tape..........i suspect taping the spokes first then the rim is best. but what is the best way to tape that radius? its only about 1/2 or 3/4 inch wide.

the after pic did not come out, super blury. but you see what i mean about taping.
also any reason not to paint the inside? he blasted that too.

Death is rare but it is a rather dangerous chemical and can cause tissue, organ, (including the heart) and bone damage if improperly handled.

Fun fact: In Breaking Bad Season 1 Walt dissolves a body using hydroflouric acid. In reality it is not strong enough to do what was depicted on the show.
I know, I tried it once.

you guys think i am right to paint first, and then polish? or am i back wards?
im thinking i dont want to contaminate the surface for the paint.
