Need help with synthetic enamel

I have a customer who has painted his John Deere 330 tractor with some paint he bought at the dealer.
He wants me to paint the hood and side panels. The paint is a synthetic enamel labeled for John Deere;
no mention of where it originated or who the manufacturer was. It says not to use laquer thinner as a
reducer, only John Deere reducer. Also no catalyst is mentioned. I will have to use this paint to assure a
good match. Will be spraying green and yellow.

I prefer to use a hardener in it and possibly reduce it. Also wanting to clear it with Universal.
Not familiar with synthetic enamel:
Can I use Universal clear activator and urethane reducer? ( I'm thinking no) If not, what can I use?
Can synthetic enamel be clearcoated?
Thanks

Had people do it with the clear activator at 8:1 and 4:1 it will work but it is not the proper iso that should be used.

If you want to clear it go to paint store and buy ANY brand of 8:1 synthetic harder and use 8:1 and then let set overnight and clear.

They used to sell it in pint cans, I remember using "Mar-Hyde" hardener in cheap paint when I was a kid. Anything designed for 8:1 will work.

You are EXACTLY right and don't let the counter guy tell you any different.
