Nason single stage can it be flattened?

Ok I got a cheap project the customer brought in,he has the Nason single stage paint but wants it with no gloss. Can it be done? Can I use SPI flattener? Again its just a cheapy thing he doesn't want to look great or hold out forever (think patina). Thanks

sure you can flatten it. not sure if you have ever shot big panels in matte though. it can make it tricky to get an even gloss with no stripes. you really need to know what your doing and have a perfectly set up gun and technique.

SPI no longer has the flattener. Unless you have some. Not sure what I'm going to get when my stock runs out.

utech 890 will replace the spi flattener. Its good stuff and not killer expensive.

Personally I think it would be easier to spray the Nason as is and flatten it with clear. Might make it a bit easier to be consistent.

Yeah, I would get SPI's matte clear #2200, it's made for guys like me who always used to leave a stripe somewhere in a flattened job. The SPI stuff is just plain idiot proof.
