Metal Glaze over slick sand?

Yes, bodyfillers and polyester glazes work fine over slick sand

I've done some adhesion tests on this with the primer unsanded vs sanded and have seen no difference but if you're concerned just scratch the area with 180

I have as well. Just the other day I applied some Rage Gold to un-sanded Super Build that was 7 days old, only as a test. In some places the filler failed. In the places where the filler came off of the Super Build, it took some Super Build with it. The Super Build was sprayed over epoxy that had cured for 30 some hours. The epoxy and Super Build was 100% intact after I got done chiseling off all the Rage.

I did the test to see how particular I would need to be with sanding to prep for filler. Despite these results, I still always sand the Poly Primer. Maybe it is not necessary at all? Thoughts?

Strange how the failure occurred only in some areas. What was different in these areas? I haven't used Super Build but all I hear is good things about it.

Nothing was different that i know of. My test wasn't all that extensive. I just put a couple 1" diameter globs of filler on the superbuild, then smacked it with a chisel. I should probably do a better test and compare filler adhesion to sanded superbuild vs. non-sanded after a day, and non-sanded after week.

When the poly primer is fairly fresh there should be no issues, unless super build is something different.
