Merchant Warning

I recommended a place called auto-interior.com to the Miata owners recently for a carpet kit for their car. However when they tried to place the order and have it shipped to me this company rejected the order because the billing and shipping addresses didn't match. Then they sent the lady a nasty email saying, "Once an order has been rejected, for whatever reason, we will not place it again. Please find another vendor who may be able to assist you with this order."

We agreed that I would place the order and that would eliminate the problem, so I placed the order using my credit card, shipping address and billing address which were the same.

The company then sent us both a nasty email saying, "As we said in our original email--see below.
Once an order has been rejected, for whatever reason, we will not place it again. Please find another vendor who may be able to assist you with this order."

I called the company asking them why I hadn't received an email confirmation of my order? The guy said, he would look into it and call me back - never did. I called again and left a message but no response.

Today I cancelled the order via email and notified my credit card company that I wanted to stop payment if it was submitted.

Just a heads up not to do business with this outfit. Found the same carpet kit, by the same manufacturer (ACC) for about $10 more at ocautocarpets.com. The owners are placing the order through them now.

This stuff makes you appreciate the excellent customer service we get from SPI.

not the first time i have heard bad reviews on them . likely just a boiler room sales bunch .

makes you wonder how they stay in business, probably not for long....

I have never bought from them or know of them till now but
With the attitude the company has, they may stay in business by reselling items less then everyone else, to people that don't know the company but if you need to be 10% less then the lowest out there to get business, the bottom line will be a major problem.
Over the years, I have seen many people go out of business that I know and it always seems to be, bad cash management or piss-poor customer service 99% of the time.

reminds me of a web transaction I had a few years ago.
Purchased an 8.8 complete rear end for a 2000 mustang. There was a "crate" fee of $45 if I remember correctly.
I gave the seller feedback that there was no crate, just some tie wire and a used wooden pallet.
That pissed the seller off and would not let me bid on any more of his auctions.
He told me on the phone when I called him that he doesn't do business with troublemakers.

There's a whole subculture that doesn't get customer service. I bought a used vacuum on eBay and only after placing the order learned that the seller only accepted postal money orders. I took a point off the score and got back the nastiest note, promising never to sell to me again! Um, that was already my plan so I responded with a thank you!

,,, well our little world existed long before paypal and still exists with or without paypal. Although inconvenient, U.S.P.M. Orders are a very secure way to do business and many sellers do not do enough business to justify a paypal account while others even if they do a lot of business simply do not want to give fees out to the idle rich investors at paypal. Kinda like the trend of some folks now not using their debit card or credit cards at the store cause that just helps feed idle class and denies them their cut on your dime. Just saying

postal money orders are a nightmare . i wont accept them nor use them. i have seen first hand what happens if lost. they handle them worse than the postal service. when i buy on line i use the comment section to insist the package not be transferred to the usps . that guarantees a few extra days and likely damage.

Back when checks were the thing, I insisted on Postal Money Orders. It is the only check that is guaranteed
.
Loosing cash is a problem too, but its something that everyone will accept--in person.
I have also had a fake cashers check that the bank can't detect, until it doesn't clear the bank that issued it.

postal money order will take 90 days to get replaced. if there is no number on a bank check i will not take it until i can call the bank.

Chevman is right but I am not busting your butt here Shine, but your talking points are complete unsubstantiated garble. " Not until I call the bank " What bank is that Shine ?? The U.S. Post Office is it's own bank because it is also the U.S. Treasury. So Ask yourself this - If there ever comes a day that a U.S. Postal Money Order is non payable then what do you suppose your little corporate run paypal account will be worth on that day ? Do your home work before generating generalized comments regarding the post office, it's services and such. So what if you have to wait to redeem it if it is lost or stolen at least you have FBI, U.S. Attorney General, Treasury and U.S. Post Master's Office on your side backing you up. Not so with paypal or bank issued money orders. But to get back to my original intent of my post, if you want to keep feeding your corporate dollar overlords, then so be it cause they do make it convenient for you don't they ?

first it will take 90 days to replace a postal money order. i know this first hand . second i will not take a bank check without a number to call . if you pay me with cash expect me to pen every bill. and forget travelers checks they are even worse. for the record i hate the usps . it is one of the worst ran corporations on the planet. should have gone away 40 years ago.

…. whatever, yeah right, they should have gone away to what ? - A privatized, corporate run entity for bottom line so called efficiency. Next thing you know if that is the case, there will be a 5 letter minimum at $ 1 per letter. I hear tell in Chicago they attempted to privatized the parking meters of all things and the parking rates went hyper. Had to pay the middle man ya know. Well apparently that did not last for too long.

Seems like UPS and FedEx do a pretty good job delivering packages for a fair price, I imagine they could do the same for letters as well. Perhaps a 5 letter minimum is what is needed.

…. well UPS & FedEx are really not setup for this nor do they have the infrastructure for it. In fact USPS was before UPS or FedEx and still is very good at delivering packages. If only free market congresses would keep their hands off USPS like first not letting them advertise package handling rates nor televised advertising going back some 40 years and then beefing up the stakes against them within the last 15 years, just help UPS and FedEx get their privatized piece of the pie foot hold on the efficient U.S. market to the recent Bush era move of forcing USPS to fully fund their entire retirement programs way out into the future for some 75 years and do it all within or under some 10 years. What corporate entity is required to do anything even remotely like that ? …. Anyways, enough soap box babble ….
