Media stripping PP bumpers

Who has stripped plastic bumpers? I get a lot of peelers. Customers don't want new ones and I don't like to take 3 hours sanding them.

Any suggestions or other techniques?
Thanks!

That looks like urethane. If it gets fuzzy from blasting it's no different than from sanding.

i dont think it matter much what plastic it is, if you cut down to the plastic its going to get atleast a little fuzzy and will need to be primed and sanded smooth anyway. we have a blasting company around here that are real pros. they do such a nice job with everything. they have a big industrial blast booth. they strip with a mix of walnut shell and plastic media so it doesnt damage anything then if its metal they run back over it with alum oxide to etch everything to the proper grit for epoxy primer. they strip many corvettes with their walnut shell/plastic mix and they come out good without tearing up the glass. i think a media like that would work good. its just finding someone with the facility to pull it off.

with all that said though, the stripping, priming and sanding of a bumper would cost more that just buying a new bumper so it really doesnt make sense unless its an old car with a hard to find replacement part for.
