still being a noob ive never even seen anything media blasted. ive never seen porous metal like this. does w&g cleaner get stuck in here? these pics are after sanding, before sanding the metal had a rough 80 grit type of eggshell texture. i knocked down with 80 and 150. some tiny rust spots seem deeper than i thought and i cant seem to sand the "shadow" of it out. does this have to completely be gone? you can also see the shadow of the stock sticker. does this have to be sanded out as well even though it feels smooth? thanks guys!

Was this a rusty old turd before you got ahold of it? Anyways, you should be able to epoxy it just fine. I would not worry too much about W&G remover staying in the pits, if you think it's a concern just blow it off then wait a good while before applying epoxy primer. What you are doing is perfect!

no, it had a nice but old paint job on it. first year the soft tail came out. went over it with 80 real quick, waterbourne w&g, half hour in the sun, blew off real and epoxied. thanks!

seems like no matter how much i sanded the metal, the logo wouldnt dissapear. i read here or somewhere else how it may come back to haunt me...even if i float it smooth with multiple coats of cured epoxy it will come back??

You won't see the logo on that, the corrosion is just highlighting where the decal was.

i can definitely still see it after two coats of epoxy, but ive got to fill two dings and float this sucker smooth anyway!

the metal swells and contracts differently where decals or stripes were. i 80 grit it down until i no longer see it. even then it can ghost back on you.
