Max epoxy cure time before base

#1
I am going to be using epoxy primer as a sealer under my base coat. Its a two tone job so by time I tape and paint my colors it will be 10 to 11 hours before I completely have the car sprayed with base. Is this to long of a cure time on the epoxy primer? I know " The perfect paint job" says 6 hours. The Temp will be 71 to 72 degrees.

I was going to mix 1:1:1 so it would lay flat before I put base on. I guess I'm not as close to Barry as some, I do not have his number to text him.

It has nothing to do with being close to Barry. His tech support number is on all his literature. If you call or text his tech support number, he answers it. He certainly plays no favorites.

I normally mix my sealer 1:1:1/2 unless I'm sealing over something that is completely 1 color. I don't notice any added texture, just better coverage, especially with white.

For sealing the more you reduce the epoxy the recoat window gets shorter. I do 50%-1:1:1 to get on it sooner, 37.5%-1:1:3/4 for a little better hiding, 25%-1:1:1/2 ever better coverage but still plenty smooth. The SPI epoxy is very versatile. Best thing, contact Barry, he is going to ask you questions to best advise in your situation.
