Matte Clear?

I would like to shoot some matte clear and I'm wondering if it is possible to wet sand the final coat out to 2000 or 3000 and leave it that way permanently? The chance of me laying a coat without any trash in it is exactly zero so I can't just shoot the last coat and leave it. Is this possible?

You could, not sure what it would look like but there are no problems other then looks with doing that.

If you actually go ahead and do it, post many pictures please :), that's something that I've been curious about but haven't gotten around to it.

And you could go as high as 5000 now a days with 3M Trizac.

Yes please post, as I have heard of people cleaning up with a gray scuff pad and says it works good but I have not seen any pictures.

sanded matte clear will look exactly the same as sanded gloss clear. once a matte clear is sprayed, if you want the even look then you have to leave it alone. no sanding, no buffing. anything you do to it to scratch the surface will stay like that.
