Looking for a budget bulk desiccant dryer system

I'm super tired of the filter on the end of my gun. I have a dad500 setup, but its old and I've been looking for a replacement idea. Bob, what type of filter do you run after the cat liter filter?

????? The DAD500 has total rebuild kits and there are not many parts you need to buy? You can order any part you need, from any paint store as their warehouses stock the parts because there are so many out there.

Just a basic Sharp, I think it's an 880 if I remember right. When I clean it I find very little dust or anything in it. I've got an old solid brass water seperator that must be from the 40's or 50's that's about 2.5ft tall that the air enters then it goes to the litter dryer, then to the sharpe water separator. A toilet paper roll style filter would also work fine I bet-maybe even better. The screens/mesh in the kitty litter dryer need to be fine, I have three stacked on the outlet end.

it is a pretty band-aided up setup, lol. Not exactly a new and fresh unit. I bought it a long time ago. Im just always looking for new ideas that people try. I'm still always nervous to remove the filter from my gun.

I went through my filter last night. I replaced the airhose that I use to paint with(been a few years and it was time). I am replacing all of the filters in the dad500 today. I'm still super gunshy on removing the ball filter on the gun but that is my goal. Is there any type of filter I can put after the dad500 as a type of last defense?

I think the most common final filter is the Motorguard toilet paper units. The filter is available in a couple of different versions but I'd recommend the one with the 1/2" NPT openings. This site has it listed for $64.88 :
