Iwata LPH80 "Rotating cup"??

specs say "cup rotates to spray in any position", how does that work on a center post gun? I see how the side port on the LPH50 works but can't find any info on the 80.

only the 50 and 100 use the sidewinder cup . i have the lph100 and it is a really good gun.

Sorry I could have worded my question better. I know the LPH80 does not use a side port cup.
The following is from the Iwata site in the description of the LPH80:
Its 4 oz. (110 ml) stainless-steel gravity cup is center-mounted and rotates, allowing for spraying horizontally, vertically or underneath surfaces
I would like to know how the LPH80 cup works to allow what that line describes. I'm familiar with the LPH50 side port design and know how that works.

hub would be the one to ask i guess. didn't notice any top cups that had a swivel or anything.

I started a thread over there and had to clear up my question. I think the Iwata site could have described that feature a bit better.
I'll report what I find out.
Hope you are recovering well Shine :D.

I guess that is a misprint on the Iwata site regarding the cup on the LPH80. Never had one in my hands so what would I know but being a center post cup that didn't make sense.
The response I got from Hub:
Center post is all thats available for the LPH80 - There is a new 70ml aluminum cup available but nothing with rotating capabilities. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Need a good touch up gun for small parts painting where the airbrush is too small. I can turn down one of these guns but can only get so much from my air brushes ;).
I have the Horror F purple copy of the LPH50 and it works but it's junky, but I didn't expect much for $12 change:rolleyes:.

i have the lph 100 with the sidewinder cup. i use it on every job. it's great for cutting in and the tight spots . it shoots almost as well as the 400 .

I think the lph 100 may be more gun than I need. I'm spraying gun parts and need to shoot into tight inside areas and then turn it up for the bigger outside areas. Could almost do some of the parts with the airbrush but it's too small and the side cup needs filling too often. The paint (Cerakote oven cure) sets up kind of fast so I need to move to get an even wet coat. There is no way to control anything...all you get is color and activator.
It's one coat on 120 grit aluminum oxide blasted surface and bake for 2 hours. I did 3 guns so far, they look great and if it's as good as they claim should hold up.

it is a very good gun. i have used it to shoot small and large areas. i use it to shoot the dash and such where i have to shoot in several angles. i use it to do fender lips and rocker bottom . the cup is easy to move and adjust. the lph50 is just a little small for what i do but you might look into it.
