Strum, can you check and see if that link is correct? I can not get it go anywhere for me. $89 for the Tyvek Hood is not only the head gear, but the air supply hose between the hood and where it connects to your air supply on the belt. I think just the hood is around $35, but the price you found is 10/$35. Thats pretty hard to beat. I would like to check that out myself. Man your right about that cool air. Its pretty awesome and I have never so much as smelled paint fumes when Im using it.

Try searching for this item number. 29700002025

The website is Safety Solutions, but it lists the vendor as Grainger. When I looked them up directaly on Grainger, they were a lot more expensive, like you are saying. I don't know for sure that these are the correct hoods, but they look the same to me.

Lol, I was gonna be all over that one. If you find them cheaper, I would question the clear windshield before I bought. Size and ability to peel and stick protective lens over the permanent lens. The hobby aire hoods look kind of cheap, but honestly, they should last a long long time if you use the protective shields. I have used mine for at least a dozen sprays and never had to peel and stick a new lens protector yet.

I'm not painting in the booth when the makeup unit is in there, just blasting. I blast on the backside of the building and it's easy to run the breath cool hose out the fan hole.

Must be you haven't sprayed much clear yet? That's the one that eats lenses. My 3m full face can eat a tear off with each coat if it's an overall. I'm not a face talker but apparently I get right on it when I'm spraying.

I called Grainger about this and they said Grainger owns Safety Solutions and that price is probably a volume discount price for a specific account. I wondered why anyone would buy from Grainger because every time I check on their prices, it is always more than anyone else.

That part number 29700002025 is the manufacturers number, Safety Solutions part # is 6AG91. I called Grainger about the price and they said Grainger owns Safety Solutions and that price is probably a volume discount price for a specific account. She also said that part # is for one mask. I have always wondered why anyone would buy from Grainger because every time I check on their prices, it is always more than anyone else.

I have not sprayed much clear but when I got my tyvek hood I got a pack of the changeable lens.

If you watch eBay enough you can usually run across a good deal on a used 3M PAPR setup. Its all self contained and no other hose to drag around. I have hard enough time dragging around an air hose. I do use a Hobby Air setup for blasting. Sometimes I trip or step on the hose. Also the air on the Hobby Air setups can get hot, when your old like me its harder to breath. In the summer months I have to set my hobby air in front of a window ac unit. It helps some.

Never had my hobby air deliver hot air, but cant say I have used it for long periods to spray either. Never done an entire project without taking a break.

It may have just been where it was summer and I was outside. I would blast for about 30 min to 1hr. Come to think of it the hose may have heated in the sun and cause the air to be hot.
