Looking for suggestions on what to use between the inner hood brace and outer skin on the F100 I'm building. The original material is long gone and appears to have been held in place with staples. I've seen some hoods that look like they have panel adhesive or seam sealer in the gap but that seems like it would be too rigid and possibly show through the outer skin later. Wouldn't it be better for the there to be a floating cushion instead of an adhesive?
I have a strip of rubber with 3M tape on the back that I could trim down to 1/2" wide to fit, but the flange is lumpy and would need to be straightened for something like this to work. Any other ideas out there?
