I placed my order for SPI epoxy. It came, and when I read the instructions I realized I forgot the water based W&G remover.
I stopped at the local place and got a gallon of Transtar.
First I blew off the sanding dust with an air gun. Spent what i thought was a lot of time to do a thorough job. Then I started with the Transtar. I followed the instructions, put it on with a soaked wipe, dried with a separate wipe. Every time, the wipe would come up dirty. I was at it for what seemed like hours, but was probably only 30 minutes to an hour, this was to clean the inside of a not yet installed 1/4 panel (about 30 minutes to an hour on each).
I think I used a whole roll of the blue paper towels on each panel before the wipes were coming up mostly clean.
Is this typical, or should it have gone quicker? Is it the Transtar? I still have a lot left but would order up a gallon of the SPI for next weekend if it would take some time out if this step? Should I have used some solvent based first? Would spraying it on worked better than the soaked rag?
