Hypothetical Epoxy Primer Question:

Let's say that you are spraying the interior shell of a project with epoxy. This of course would be after sandblasting and cleaning. Then lets say that the project sits for a couple months before you can get back to it.

If the interior section requires more epoxy or possibly bedliner, what is the best way to scuff for adhesion? There are many nooks and crannies that would make scuffing a pain in the backside. Could you possibly just spray epoxy on top of the cured primer without scuffing or is that asking for trouble?

Thanks for any advice.

The epoxy would need to be scuffed after 7 days. I usually go ahead and scuff even after 3 days depending on temperature and humidity just to be safe. As far as the nook and crannies you can fold a maroon scuff pad and get in those areas. Sometimes I have even folded one around a paint stick to get down in some recess areas.

When you try and cut corners it usually bites you in the ass.:) Use a red scuff pad and have at it. Shouldn't take too awfully long. You just basically want to scuff the gloss off the epoxy.
