How to mark a thread read?

I hope this is an appropriate place to pose this question.

Is there a "toggle" to click or a way to have a thread indicate it has already been read? Perhaps something in the "setup"? I have looked but am not smart enough to figure it out. I enjoy reading a topic or thread but can't remember were I left off, and find my self starting over each time I return to the forum. Some topics or threads have a lot of pages:) (which is it a "topic" or a "thread"??)

Thanks.
Doug

Thanks Shine,
What I am talking about is....When I have enjoyed reading an interesting thread with 35 pages and only read 7 pages before I need to quite, when I come back I have no way of telling what page I last read. I could keep a log on paper but it would just be nice if.. when a page was read there could be an indication of those read pages when I next visit the forum.
Just a thought...
Thanks again,
Doug

I don't think there is a way to do what you want to do in the forum software. But you can do something manually if it interests you enough. On the upper right of each post is a number. My post in this thread should have a #4. These numbers are direct links to that spot in the thread. In Windows, if you right click on the number and select "Copy link address" or "Copy link location," you can then paste the link into a text file, word processor document, or "New Internet Shortcut." Alternatively, you could open the link in a new tab or window, then switch to it and bookmark it. Hope this helps.
