How much Paint to buy at one time for a project?

We are working on a 1967 Caprice and the owner wants it black. We are thinking of going with the SPI Black Base since we are using their epoxy and 2k already. Our question is do we need to buy enough black for the whole project at one time and then mix it all together so that it is all the same shade? Or are the new paints close enough so if you shoot say a door out of one gallon and the front fender out of another no one would ever be able to tell. The only reason we ask is we were always told to order the paint for a project and then dump it altogether and mix it and then pour it back into gallons then every gallon is the same color.

Its good practice to mix but spi black matches well, and you should only need one gallon of spi base

Ordered one gallon for the 56 merc in my pic and had some left over, it mixes 1:1 so you get 2 gallons sprayable

And use black for final prime or sealer
