Just wondering what the differences would be between the 2 primers, just had some turbo high build sent out for me but Im use to the regular high build, does the turbo have same build as the regular and does it sand as nice, any other info?

thanks in advance

The Turbo, mixed 4:1:1 should be about the same build as the regular build mixed 4:1.
You can cut back on reducer for a higher build if needed.
The Turbo will fool you when you spray it as it should lay like a basecoat and give the false impression that it is not filling.
The turbo has three different Nano's added in place of talc.
The Turbo should also give you a nice semi gloss when dried, so you can see imperfections.
Sand the same BUT because of the smoothness, will seem like its easier.

When reading the turbo primer label it says may be applied over bare metal. The tech sheet says to apply epoxy then turbo over bare metal. When we used a competitors brand before turbo they recomended over bare metal only on areas smaller than 4-5 inches. Epoxy or 2 part etch primer for areas larger than that. What is your recomendations for turbo primer as we do not want any failure down the road.

Thanks,

The primer will stick to bare metal very well, IF the metal is clean but we want epoxy first.
In production shops, they do use it for a ring of metal around bodyfiller work and have been for years but I explain the risks.

Personally, I don't even like the 4-5 inch areas but a lot of production shops just cannot take the time to spray the epoxy first and I do understand that.

Best way to put it, is like one of our dealerships put it to me a few weeks ago.
They do what we just talked about all day long with 3 painters and about once or twice a year they have one that comes back with a bubble, they always call when this happens and like the manager said to me, well one comeback out of 500 is still more cost efficient then waiting for epoxy to dry.
