Headlight Restoration

Has anyone used Mothers mag and aluminum polish for restoration ? So many videos my head is spinning. Looks like the 3m, sylvania and cerakote kits are decent. Just looking for different opinions suggestions . Thanks

800 grit and clear coat has always worked good for me. Simple, cheap, and long lasting.

I think it's better to sand and clear coat. Any of the SPI clears will put back UV protection that I believe gets removed ( at least partially) when the plastic is only polished to remove the weathering. I used SPI Euro 2020 on my 2005 truck about 4-5 years ago and they still look fresh.

You go 800 straight to clear, no going up in grits at all ?

800 usually is enough, you can start around 400 then 800. I normally wet sand by hand, but I have used my DA wet.
