Good luck with UV Clear

I just sprayed the underside of my 59 Triumph TR3 with 2 coats of DBU and two coats of UV Clear. Car was sandblasted so needs paint everywhere. I've used SPI primer on some areas and another primer that is more compatible with rust treatment products for other areas. Was hot day - took about two hours total. This was a warm-up round to learn more about spraying this product and get reaquainted with my Tekna Copper gun. Shot unreduced UV Clear at 23 PSI with 1.3 tip. Overall, was very happy with this. The basecoat goes down really easy. (by the way, you can't buy DBU anymore in CA so this is my last time to shoot it). A little orange peel on the bottom of the car. This was difficult to shoot as there are lots of nooks and crannies on the underside. Next I flip it over and shoot the inside (floor pans, under dash, trunk, etc.). Then, I'll do final sand and prep and shoot the parts you can actually see. For the parts you can see, I'm plannning on four coats of UV Clear and color sand to remove trash/peel. I'm a rookie but the recent posts about gun setup and adjustment from Bob H and others are very helpful. I've got my fluid tip out nearly all the way and am probably pushing more material out of the gun faster than my rookie painting skills can keep up with.

By the way, I have a 3.5 HP 60 gallon HF compressor and it hardly cycled during this paint work. I'm using a HobbyAir supplied air hood to keep me reasonably save from liver damage while I do this garage painting. My neighbors are cool and anxious for me to finish this 7 year project.

Thanks for all the help and advice. I thought you'd all like to see some progress photos. Excited to wrap up this paint job this month (nights and weekends, after mowing the lawn, cleaning the pool, bathing the dog, etc....).

Wow....youve done alot of nice work!....keep it up....itll turn out nice.

Should last a long time! Seal the seams on the topside also.

Thanks guys. Next step is to paint under dash and under truck, while car is upside down (or at least seal with epoxy). Then, I'll flip car, seam seal the inside, and start spraying! More updates to come.

quick question on repairing a paint problem with UV Clear. Last night, I shot DBU basecoat on rear of my car. Covered with two coats of UV Clear. In one area, I scuffed the BC with the air hose. So, how do I go about repairing this? Can I just sand UV Clear to smooth surface, reshoot BC in the small area with my detail gun, and then reclear the small area? I don't want to reclear the panel. It is very difficult to shoot in this tight area. Thanks.
