Ghosting

I am painting my 1965 Barracuda GM Bright blue metallic. I would like to "ghost" the rally stripes on her. I am told all I need to do is add some silver to my base. Any comments or assistance is appreciated. I am new to "ghost effect...

I saw a skull ghosted into the center of a C6 corvette. I kept walking by it and something was catching my eye. Finall, walked around it until I saw it from the correct angle, then you could not help but see it. It was gorgeous... looked like it was floating in there.

I did some "ghost" stripes on my car with a transparent pearl. They change from blue to purple and kinda silver depending on the angle. You can see them on my deck lid in the pic.

A pearl works well for the now you see it now you don't affect

It takes some experimenting, a surprisingly small amount of dry pearl in intercoat can produce a pretty dramatic effect in just a few coats. Last pearl job I did was about 1/2 oz of dry pearl per quart of unreduced intercoat, and a ghost stripe/flame will take less than that, depending on what it's going over.

SPI intercoat clear-it rocks! really good stuff. Add a shot of clear activator to each ready to spray quart so it crosslinks with your topcoat clear and provides the best durability.
