Filler/epoxy question

Sprayed the bare metal with 2 coats of SPI epoxy. Laid some Evercoat Quantum, worked it with 80, and finished with 180. Had some bare metal, shot 2 more coats of SPI epoxy. looking at it today, I can see some of the filler. Is the filler "absorbing the epoxy and I just should have sprayed it heavier in these areas? looks great elsewhere. Temp was upper 60's for over 24 hours. newb here, thanks

normal, not to worry. The filler is porus and will soak up some solvent-the solvent will evap out but the difference it makes in cure will show in less gloss in that area. The filler is now sealed up, if you were to shoot another coat now it would all look uniform when it cured. The build is the same even though it may look thinner on the filler.

I've also wondered about this, but like mentioned it does cover on the next round.

Thanks guys. I need to order some primer now. Thinking I may go with the high build. Hoping that will make the life of a newb easier when it comes to blocking. Any thoughts ?

I'll say normal build is super thick relative to ppg "high build" so high build must be massive.

I think regular build should be the first primer that gets tried. In some ways I think high build is a little overkill and might be for guys who want to shortcut their work a bit.

Years ago I asked Barry what he would use if it was his car and he said Turbo so that is the only urethane primer I use.

Placed my order friday. Thanks guys. I may just get the hang of this yet.
