Just plain old window glass, not automotive glass.
I have a couple windows I would like to etch a pattern on and wonder what is the best way to go about it, abrasive blast or chemical?

Pointers & tips always appreciated :encouragement:

Either, which best works with your equipment. The easiest is to go to a sign shop...they can cut "etched looking" vinyl and you just apply!

Abrasive blast is the real deal. However there are various vinyl films available that replicate the look very well. I have used them in situations where the glass could not be removed or replaced, or the cost of blasting didn't meet the budget.
Never used acid to etch glass but the difference is the acid is a smooth finish and the abrasive is more dramatic, textured and you can actually carve into the glass.

The longer you leave the acid on the deeper it cuts. I've Never blasted my glass.
