Epoxy solids %

I'm trying to find the solids content of SPI epoxy primer in Black.

This is to calculate wet film thickness and coverage. This is a fence job that will be between 30 and 50 gallons so, I'm trying to get an idea.

I've been told 2 to 2 1/2 mils per coat sprayed for auto body.

Epoxy (unreduced) is more like 1.0-1.5 mils per coat. 2K Urethane is around 2.0 -2.5. Mixing epoxy and letting it induce for 12 hours will give you slightly more build but not equal to 2K urethane. If you use it for build just spray more coats.

Call Barry on the Tech Line. He can give you solids %. But like I said above, wet film thickness is around 1.0-1.5 mils per coat unreduced. That is going to be one expensive fence if you are planning on using 30-50 gallons of epoxy.

Not there to check, but it's in the area of 70 to 75%.
Not looked in years but 70.7 sticks in my mind.
Figure on 70%, and that is a good safe bet.
