Epoxy Primer Shelf Life

How long is an unopened gallon of SPI Epoxy Primer (red) good for?

Ambient temperature range between 65 and 75 degrees. Humidity range between 40% and 70%.

What about if all air in activator can gets purged out with straight argon after every use?

And would it be worthwhile to do the same to the epoxy as well?

Barry told me to put the tip of Mig welder in the opening of the activator can and give it a quick shot. Argon is heavier than air and creates a blanket on the activator. Like it was never opened.
So are we thinking it could go a max of 3 years then being that's the unopened shelf life?

Hope you dial your wire feed back to zero....;)

If you aren't going to use it all up in a few months then yes. I wouldn't worry if you are using it up in a month or two.
I wish I could be done with it in a few months. With the interruptions that come my way I fully expect to still be needing it 12 months or more after it's first opened.

Right now, all my metal work is getting a quick shot of cheap rattle can primer just to keep the rust gremlins away. Once that's all done it'll all get blasted in prep for the good stuff.

12 months is fine with opened activator.

I’ve used activator that was much, much older before….

The epoxy itself is good for much longer. I’ve had some sitting around for years. If I can mix it up I use it.
