Hi and i am wondering if im doing it right...I have allready sandblasted and fixed any body damage and if this is the correct way? I would now spray on one coat of epoxy primer using my hvlp gun with a 1.8 tip and nozzle set. Then i would use my black spray for a dusting and block sand and touch up any spots i go through. Now this could take up to 2 weeks because of my job and some days i may only get 2 hrs to work on it. Then i would apply my final coat of epoxy primer and in the next 2 or 3 days i would put on my base coat with a 1.4 nozzle set up then right into my clear coat. So i am asking is this a ok plan to use the epoxy primer in this manner or should i just use cheap primer to block sand and then put on the 2 coats of epoxy primer after i block it? thanks for any and all help.

A couple of ideas here.
The epoxy will spray best out of a 1.4 and you want two coats over bare metal for best protection.
If you want to block the epoxy itself, I would do three coats as epoxy does not fill like a 2K primer.

Another thought, although it can be done the way you described, depending on your experience level, you may be better off spraying a 2K primer over the epoxy and sanding that, starting and finishing with the epoxy eliminating the 2K primer is great but a lot more work and harder for a newer painter to get right and here again, I do not you your painting level of expertise.

You can't be all bad with a name like that! LOL

Go to the "Perfect Paint Job" tab at the top of your screen. You will probably find the answers to most of your questions there. Let us know what we can help with after that.

What do you mean by "cheap primer"? For blocking, you would want to use SPI Turbo 2k or 2k High Build. Turbo is actully more expensive per sprayable gallon than epoxy, but it's worth every penny, IMO.

This can be like reading Spanish, if you don't read Spanish to a new painter, so feel free to call me to clear up any loose ends after your reading.
Sometimes we can make it more clear on the phone then in writing and that is what I'm for, so call anytime.
