Epoxy Primer and tinting

I have a question in regard to tinting SPI Epoxy. I am repainting a Model A Ford and I am using SPI Epoxy Primer. Can the primer be tinted to use as a guide coat?
I am using PPG Omni Acrylic Urethane MTK

no need for a guide coat with spi. it has a gloss so it will change colors when you sand .

I realize this is digging up an old thread but I'd like to ask the same question for my S.I.L.. He's building a 32 Ford pickup and wanted to give the truck a couple coats of epoxy primer, assemble it and drive it for a summer to shake down any issues before final paint. @Barry
