epoxy peeling

Was going to reply that I had the same problem, it happened to be from the dry spray at the edge of the fan, since the issue I cut in from those edges when possible now

What i did was put the non reduced coats on the jamb areas but the final reduced coat i didnt. But it still doesnt explain the issues around the tailight openings

Everything is well and taken care of. Took care of problem areas with 320. Now im going to blend it all back in starting with 400 and finish with 600 wet

Thanks everyone for helping!

You should be fine as long as everything feathered back smoothly with no hard edge. Good luck and post pics when your done.

I get two calls related to this about once a month.

1) The edge of my frame is showing flash rust through the epoxy.
2) no adheision in the edge of this panel OR Flash rust is coming through epoxy on edge of truck quarter by the bed.

All related and easy to miss, make sure all edges get a wet coat and on a frame what I like to do is spray two coats and after second coat, with no waiting I will do a third coat just waiting the edges.
Truck bed quarters , its very easy to have the edge on top covered with over spray because of the difficulty to spray on some of these trucks.

jamb edges usually get hammered . the solvents get trapped at the edge by the top surface flashing off and the solvents from the jamb blocking the edge. this is why i sand my edges to metal before last coat.

top edges of fenders and beds will be thin because you are shooting with the middle of the pattern and no overlap . also a likely place to sand through .

just my opinion and worth what you paid .

Fo you huys shoot your jambs first then proceed to the surrounding panel or do you like to do all at once?

I like to do the tight spots first (like cutting in jams and edges) then proceed to the outer panels. For me it lets me concentrate on what really counts and what ever lands in those tighter areas will melt in and if not as smooth as the outside that's ok I would rather it be there (hidden). Unless your refering to doing those areas first one day then masking and shooting the outside the next day, that would depend on the job and car.
