Dually fenders

I am in the process of getting ready to paint my 2001 F350 dually. Are there any tips on how to deal with the fenders. I am not really sure what they are made of. My plan is to repaint the truck in stages with ss spi black. I am considering mixing with universal on the final coats. I am going to have a bunch of questions again and thank everyone in advance for your help.

Over the years, I have only worked on two dually trucks to help a painter and a bodyman repair these quarters and I hate to say it but I don't even know what year they were but the both I worked on were SMC. Not sure they all are but someone here will know.
