Details on "scuffing"

Generally scuffing dulls the surface, thus when there are no more shining spots you are done. I have never used the scuffing paste myself so I'll let someone else answer that question.

How do you know when you're scuffed enough? I've seen a few people mention scuff stuff, how is that used?
Put some on your scuff pad. Rub it in a little like you would with soap or bodywash on a washclosh. Wet the pad a little and have a wet work surface. Then scuff in a overlapping circular motion. Tight circles. Add more water if necessary. Work an area then rinse.

I really like scuff stuff because it’s a good cleaner as well. I only use it for scuffing plastic, and I add it to a wet red scotch brite and rub on. For metal painted surfaces, just red scotch brite until it’s dull. Doesn’t take a lot.

Which is courser, red or grey?
