Dark Primer / Dark Basecoat

I've sanded my high build polyster primer (Slick Sand) to where I like it.......now to seal it before the basecoat. I was planning on sealing it with a reduced epoxy primer....but all I have is black. The basecoat color is a midnight blue. Do you think I'l have problems painting a dark color over a black primer? And is epoxy -> basecoat still recommended. I've read the the 2K primer is a bit overkill if the bodywork is done right. Thanks.

I will typically re-prime over poly primer but I know a lot of people that have epoxy sealed over poly without any issues.
And you should be fine if you have a dark basecoat with the black sealer.

Poly primer is pretty new to me. There have been a few times where I thought I had the poly primer good for sealer, but I sprayed a coat of epoxy just to be sure. Each time, I was glad I did. The shine of epoxy lets you know if you have issues before it's too late. What I usually find are gouges and scratches. I don't guide coat a lot though. I keep a gallon of white and black epoxy. This way I can spray white, black or mix them and get gray. The different colors are my guide coat.
