cut and buff ?'s

I finally got the Camaro I have trying to paint done. This is first that I have used the UC in an application where I will be polishing it (used it a couple of times on small jobs to get used to how it sprays and lays).First off let me say I love that stuff, lays down and sprays like a dream! Now for the question, how long can/ should I wait to cut and buff (I used the very slow activator for flow out purposes) My shop is working hard to maintain 65 this weekend as we are seeing temps in the single digits and well below zero overnight, and throw some wind with that to make miserable. So my thoughts are to let it set through the week and get after it next weekend. Next question is I laid down 4 pretty heavy coats with 30 minutes from the time I finished between coats. What grit should I begin with to cut, 800 or 1000 to eliminate the dredded urethane wave. Also will there be enough to buff without fear of cutting through. Unfortuately there is some trash in the paint but it is managable, and my plan is to sand down to 3000 with the standard 500 grit increments. Thanks in advance for the help, and I will try to put up a few pictures of it when done buffing.

A one week cure is a good idea, start with 800, 4 coats should be plenty if you put it on wet. You could cut it with 800 and let it set that way for the week-this will help the cure a lot.

I agree 100% with what Bob said....... Unless it is really hot it is much easier to sand and buff universal after at least 7 days!
