crevice and contour sanding

Have you ever seen a serious blaster in operation? After years puttering with my little home setup wondering about warpage I had a pro come for this A100... if you see that rig in action it becomes clear where the warpage worry comes from.. that setup could blow a hole in a panel.... I am not a worried about my little wimpy home setup as much now. I don't think you have to worry about warping a tailgate with a home setup. A thin roof, hood, trunk panel maybe if you are not careful.
yeah Jim your prolly right. for what im gonna use it for its a non issue. i just need to round up a new hood, media, maybe new tips etc.
im more worried about moisture now. i see my pipe system is time limited. it works better than directly from the compressor but in a few hours im gonna get moisture again. maybe a paint gun wont consume the air two sanders did but its still a worry.

You could use either a dessicate bead filter at the media blasting pot, or a water/oil type bulb at the blasting pot. Might be a good use for a dessicate snake. I have never used a snake because you'll never know when the beads are saturated until it's to late.

This suggestion might get you thru what little blasting you have to do. Also put a fan blowing air on your air-compressor head. Keeping the cylinder as cool as possible will help.

i am actually playing with the idea of a big home made desiccant filter. but not the dinky ones you see on u tube, that plastic is a bomb waiting to rupture. a big hydraulic filter housing or one of the older desiccant dryer tanks from a truck would suit. now why didnt i pull that kinda stuff off trucks and equipment i scrapped? almost always sorry i got rid of things.

little blaster help please? i got out the blaster i got at a sale a few years ago, it works! it does have a 3/4 hose and instead of that dead man valve you see on the cheapos, its got an actual ball valve. my question is on the nozzle, it is ceramic, about 1.5" long held on with what looks like a steel nut. it easily unscrewed by hand, but that ceramic dont want to come out of the nut. is it supposed to? i see just the ceramic part for sale.
i just dont want to force it and break it and then cant find any tips.

boy you guys were right! i wound up at only 50psi. it worked so well i am now thinking about a better blaster, or doing some upgrades to this one.
i kept having to fiddle with the media valve. open is too much, half open will clog. of course who ever had this thing before didnt strain the media, i had to remove the tip a couple times and take out a tiny pebble. but boy oh boy is this way fast!
the areas i was doing i dont think i could have warped if i tried, but what about big flat areas? i have a cab thats in good shape but the whole top has surface rust. i would think you maybe could warp that? maybe not. these old dodge trucks seem to be pretty thick.
