All gun manufactures claim they have an advantage. An analogy would be a musical instrument that only sounds as good as the musician playing it, the gun will only perform as good as the sprayer. For clear, and base by changing the air cap, I use an Iwata LPH400 and am completely happy with its performance. And this gun only needs 16 working PSI at the inlet and uses a lot less CFM compared to many. If you have a large capacity compressor then the CFM is a moot point.
Unless you have a cheap Harbor Freight knockoff gun, I'd just master using what you have now.
