I read the new comliant or reduced pressure guns have a little better atomization and are better for laying on the clear, is there any truth to this or are they trying to sell you another gun. Thanks dave

I have been spraying clear with the Sata 5000 rp for the last month. I will have to say I have never seen anything better for clear. I am astounded at how easy this gun is to spray UV clear with slick as glass.

All gun manufactures claim they have an advantage. An analogy would be a musical instrument that only sounds as good as the musician playing it, the gun will only perform as good as the sprayer. For clear, and base by changing the air cap, I use an Iwata LPH400 and am completely happy with its performance. And this gun only needs 16 working PSI at the inlet and uses a lot less CFM compared to many. If you have a large capacity compressor then the CFM is a moot point.
Unless you have a cheap Harbor Freight knockoff gun, I'd just master using what you have now.

Mike
