Curious what would be good chip protection for a brand new pick up hood 2015 silverado. I have seen some spray stuff or the 3 m vinal , opinions please .
 
I installed the 3m vinyl. I did the hood edge, front painted parts of tbe bumper and the complete headlights. Lasts 3-5 years. I redid the hood edge after 4 years. I recommend the stuff. Any leftovers of it I used on the rocker INSIDE the door. Always seem to scratch that area. Easy install with a heat gun, spray bottle with water amonia and a rubber squegee. should be some videos on you tube.
 
Gonna be buffing out a 2014 corvette and will have to remove a bunch of this stuff :/ should be fun. Any tips now that you have first hand experience?
 
I just peel it off then i wiped with wd40 to remove the glue. Then wax and grease remover.
 
Check out youtube. But I just have a spray bottle with water and ammonia, rubber squegee (like the one for putting putty on) heat gun and some razors. Keep the film wet since tbe heat gun dries it off quick. Some tight curves take a while to get right but theyre not difficult. Similiar to doing window tint.
