Charcoal Gray or Black over metal flake

Hi all, total n00b here. I have the SPI intercoat clear and want to make a transparent black to go over metalflake to darken what I have now. I cannot find a kandy black and have read of using a toner or dye mixed with the intercoat to darken silver to become charcoal or somewhere in between while letting the flake show thru. Also, since I'm a n00b, I'd like it to work so each coat I add will darken further so I can just control shades by the number of coats. Anyone know the best technique for doing this ? Here's a picture of what I'm trying to do more or less:

And here is what I have now, basically HOK mini flake in intercoat with a couple of coats of universal clear:

I plan to scuff the clear with 600 and then tape out panels to darken with intercoat mixed with something. Thanks in advance!

there is candy black. rm has it in their carizzma line and alsa also has it. spraying any transparent type finish will darken with each coat.
