Break through when block sanding

Hey guys,

I stripped a car to bare metal and did 2 coats of epoxy followed by spi 2k primer. When I was block sanding the hood, I burned through to bare metal in 2-3 places. They are about dime sized break throughs. What do you guys do? Shoot more epoxy over the entire panel? Then more 2k? Rinse and repeat if necessary?

It depends what stage you are in. If the entire panel needs more primer and blocking, you could mix a little epoxy in a glass measuring cup and spray it on the rub throughs (I get them at walmart). After giving it some curing time, you can continue with 2k.

If the entire panel does not need primer and blocking, you could spray 2 coats of epoxy on the rub through spots and surrounding areas and just block the epoxy to make sure those spots are straight.
