Black epoxy

Probably a strange question, but here it is.

I have a customer project that needs to be shot over a black base. How "black" is the black epoxy? I have always used PPG DP epoxy and it seems to be a muted black... kinda has brown and grey tones to me.

Pictures would be great!

I'd say ppg, and I use the same black pigment in the epoxy so that mine will be no better.

SPI Black Epoxy is more black than PPG in my experience. I recall PPG DPLF being on the brown side. SPI is nice and black.

These are all SPI black. I would agree that it can be a little brown/grayish in the sun but if Barry is using the same carbon black pigment as PPG then that would make sense. I still think it’s so purdy

Just sprayed a Ford truck in unreduced black epoxy last night / early this morning that guy is going to run as sprayed. No paint till later. Looks black to me.
