Just acquired a 64 Chevy 4-speed Impala SS that someone stripped and primed with acid etch primer. Can someone tell me what is the best and easiest way to remove this so I can re-coat with epoxy primer?

I rubbed some lacquer thinner with a paper towel on a fender last night and it somewhat came off. I'll try a Scotch Brite pad tonight. I can also use a DA but I would be afraid I would warp a panel using a sandblaster.

I have heard alot of bad things about washing it with lacquer thinner, like your wiping marks showing up in the first coat even though it is dry. Almost like those sticker removal deals, washing and still getting an image.
No, I won't be wiping it off. I only did a small spot to see if it would remove without much effort. I will be sanding it off. That seems to be the fastest way.
