I am getting ready to spray base here in a few days. The plan is to spray base, spray a coat of intercoat in the appropriate panels, wait overnight, tape my stripes in and paint them, un-mask, wait overnight, then clear. Is there a problem with this taking a few days or will my base effectively dry out and need a scuff and recoat?

Excellent. Thanks again Jim. When it comes to unmasking is there a preferred time point for that?

The man with the answers..... Was my plan I was hoping that wouldn't be too long to wait. I plan on taping off with green or yellow 3m, it seems to have been pretty clean coming back up in other areas.

the green or yellow is fine if you going to pinstripe the edge. if not you will want a fineline tape that will give crisp edges. 3m has purple fineline which is probably the best one goin right now. they also have their blue which many other companies have copied and that all sux. they do have a new green tape that just came out which is great. its this strange paper film type stuff. kinda like the tags on a mattress. either that or their purple is my recommendation

No pinstripe so the purple it is. Once again your a lifesaver for sure.
