Base without Reducer

Is it ok to use SPI base without reducer to brush into chips before I put UC over it? Does it need the reducer to activate it or is it just what it sounds like, just a thinner?

Unreduced is fine, better really. Sometimes I put just a smidge of reducer in so it handles better.

Just did same thing last weekend, will work great.
I use a #2 sword brush

This question caught eye, and I wanted to ask if you would expand on what you're talking about here?

Were talking about using a touch up brush such as a sword brush to dab a stone chip. Works best not reduced.
No way would you ever spray base without reducing, if that is what you were getting at.

Lol, you guys are bad i have had the same sword brush since 1976 when learnded how to stripe. Cost 2.50 or so.

i still have my kit . cant stripe worth a damn any more because i dont practice . lettering brushes, sword brushes , all kinds of stuff . but a q-tip works great for chips.

I didn't know if you were talking about filling a rock chip that didn't get filled after spraying base coat. Or just a rock chip that happens after the paint job is done, and you're making a repair?

If you really want cheap, use a paper match.
