air supply pressure

2 quick questions
1. Read where Barry said to have at lest 120 psi on hose going to spray gun is this always the case or just special cases.
If not what should I be running on hose, I have DeVlibiss startline (I know it is crappy but all I have right now.)

2. Also read where Barry said not to wet floor down before spraying if you are below Mason Dixon anyone know why?

Mason Dixon thing -- go to the second page of that thread Barry explains that the iso's in clear can clump under the right conditions its reply #14

The reason for keeping pressure up is simple:
You keep the volume of air up; think cfm. Then adjust pressure at gun to what you need; ie 15-30 lbs.
This keeps the pressure and volume of air consistent.

wide open at the wall and a diaphram regulator at the gun

Thanks guys

Bob when you say diaphragm regulator you are talking about a normal regulator rather than the cheap flow control that gives you a blast of air when you first pull the trigger then it will level out at what you have it set for. If yes I wondered why they send these with the sprayer it always seemed to me that the normal regulators with constant pressure would work better. Do you have a recommendation or just any will do.
