ADVICE NEEDED FOR ON THE VEHICLE RUST TREATMENT

I have a guy who wants his Jeep's spring hangers and underneath cleaned up and covered so he sees no rust, I am up in the air on this and need some help with how to clean up and what to apply?
 
Hard pass for me. But If I had to, I'd probably use an air blower and a wire brush, then spray can undercoat. No warranty, just come back for the same treatment once a year or so.
 
Just had a similar thing happen to me. Customer had a '99 Mustang convertible that showed no outside visible rust, but the underside was wasted. Rust everywhere to the point of being structurally dangerous. Customer asked what I could do with it, and I suggested finding another one from somewhere other than the rust belt. Never see anything like that on cars from around here unless they are parked at the beach.
 
Jc, both of my Caddys from north east are covered (on bottom) with fluid film.
It looks much better BUT not sure it's stopping rust.
I do know things won't be as frozen to loosen,
I also know wear cloths you'll trash when done when ya go under to work on it a yr from now. Everything will be gritty road grime & nasty dirty oily.
It also washes off where water hits, wheel wells ect.
I'd tell him buy 6 spray cans & do it himself. We used gallon & hf electric sprayer for house paint.
Heated the ff on hotplate. Turns to liquid in seconds.

I was in Chicago a couple weeks ago and saw 5yr old cars with rusted thru quarter panels. Lol. Thats nuts?....then just out of coincidence I was walking in parking lot at work. And walked by a newer dodge truck. Maybe 10yrs old. Had a rusted out bed. I said no way......went and looked at the license plate frame and it was a Chicago bears plate frame....
 
Here in West Virginia they use a lot of salt in the winter on the roads and the mining sites use calcium on the roads so we have a lot of rust issues as well.

around west metro detroit, calcium chloride is being spray on roads during certain conditions in the winter.
its worse on cars than salt

Those of us in the South cannot comprehend what the North goes through as far as rust :)
