Activator life?

I bought 2 gallons of SPI black single stage years ago, at the time it was being discontinued. I had the intention of working on my car at that time, but I became one of those people who say "someday I plan on restoring my car". Well, I'm finally getting some spare time. I bought 2 gallons of the 1:1 activator back then and have never opened the cans. It's been stored in my basement, so temperature has been consistent. Any chance the activator is still good? Is there a way to test it before I put in my gun?

Thanks,
Bill

No way to know if still good or not.
Should be but you will need to test, it is just something we can't say for sure.

If you want to send the gallons back I would replace with new and new activators. Your call.

Wow! Barry, that's way too generous. My fault for waiting so long, I'd buy new SPI reducer if it's still compatible to the old SS. Would it still mix at 1:1?

New one mixes 4:1, I just hate old stuff, why not box it up send it back and let me replace and then neither you or I will have any headaches.

Barry,
Thank you. I will be in touch. I will need to find proper boxes to ship. I remember the double boxing with shredded paper it was originally shipped in, would try to replicate if I can. I'm still taken aback by your generosity.

I wouldn't hesitate using it. A cure test would tell the story. Fish, you can't beat SPI's customer service!

I've used 90% of my universal clear but not sure if it's working out. Can I return it for a fresh gallon?:)

Well only if there is at least a 1/2 inch in the bottom of the gallon, so I know you if not use all of it and trying to scam me. LOL
