Acrylic paint

Has anyone used Universal clear over artist acrylic paint? I’m restoring the simulated wood grain steering wheel that has woodgraine etched in it and I’d like to wash it with some washes of acrylic artist paint to make it look a little more realistic then I wanna shoot universal clear over that.

Just wrap the steering wheel with kitchen woodgrain adhesive shelf paper, then clear it with spi universal.

yes actually you can. waterbase airbrush paint is all just artists acrylics. they have been clearing over it for years.
