Are you planning to build this at the level of your other cars?Probably poke at $25-$30k. Depends.

If you do and it only fetches $25-30k then you are restoring the wrong vehicle imho. I know it’s a cheap project but your time has to be worth a decent wage. You would be better off restoring Mopar muscle cars that fetch big money. Sure the project cars are expensive but they easily sell for six figures when restored. You could be the Ken Sungela of Mopars.More or less yes. Likely won’t be as anal about finding original bits and pieces that run the costs up and few care about.

Just my two cents….

It’s just not build quality that brings the money at BJ. It’s the cars that are sought by drunken ballers….Also considering taking it to Barrett Jackson next spring just for the experience of it. After seeing the cars there my cars are in the top 10% of restoration quality, that surprised the crap out of me.
I can appreciate that. Let’s revisit this conversation in a year or two.I just don’t care about the muscle cars, they will get saved by others. I love to save these cars that no one else does. I’m not looking at this as a money maker. If I can recoup my investment (materials and parts) and make a $5k-10k I will be happy. I just need to stay busy and feel good about saving less desirable cars.

And yes the quality of some of the cars at BJ was a real eye opener for me.

I sold my beloved 69 Camaro last year. I sold it for less than I could have because I didn’t want any whining if it broke. The guy I sold it to got an offer he couldn’t refuse six months later. This is what the new owner did the first day with no insurance. Broke my heart, it was such an awesome car. 600 rwhp in the wrong hands. One year wait for new carbon fiber front clip parts.Oh and I have to learn how to actually let them go once I’m done too!

And you need to get top dollar, don’t leave any money on the table for the next guy…They need to go to a home far far away!
One more comment. The more you make the more you have to invest in fancy tools….I just don’t care about the muscle cars, they will get saved by others.
