71 Buick GS Hood

I've actually had good luck welding these types of rust holes, turning the welder down and very slowly filling the holes with tack welds. Since its been blasted the holes dont blow open as bad when you hit them with a weld. Just dont over heat it and warp it.

Basically it is like MIG welding but with silicon bronze wire. Uses low heat, pure argon, and higher wire speed than steel wire.

I've done the same while using copper to back-up the hole... only when there's random small holes though not swiss cheese.

Hi Metalman, no warping from blasting. The guy that does my blasting is very thorough and works on antique cars himself. He has always shocked me on how great of a job he does without causing any warping.
Stay on good terms with that guy, not many can blast a hood or flat panels without warp.
